Wisconsin Alliance for Healthy Marriages

Wisconsin Alliance for Healthy MarriagesWisconsin Alliance for Healthy Marriage (WAHM) is a partnership which joins community based organizations, Family Resource Centers and families to provide a Healthy Marriage Education Program in urban and rural areas located in six Wisconsin Counties (Fond du Lac, Kenosha, Milwaukee, Outagamie, Racine, Sheboygan and Winnebago). Research has shown overwhelmingly that children who are raised in married households fare better than children who grow up in other family structures. The vision of WAHM mirrors the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families’ mission: “To help couples that choose to marry gain greater access to marriage education services that enable them to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to form and sustain healthy marriages.”

Our three goals are to:

  • Develop and strengthen the relationship between parents by providing Healthy Marriages education and training
  • Educate parents on financial management and pre-employment skills to support healthy marriage
  • Expand and strengthen parents knowledge of early childhood development focusing on age appropriate expectations
